ABOUT US

The ReMade Foundation

The Foundation, strongly supported by CONAI, acts as a strategic hub for dialogue between companies involved in the production and promotion of goods made from recycled materials, contributing to the dissemination and implementation of institutional tools such as the Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM) and Green Public Procurement (GPP).

ReMade certification attests to the content of recycled material and/or by-products in materials, semi-finished or finished products: a distinctive element in the circular economy that requires companies to reconstruct traceability, ensuring maximum transparency for consumers (public or private) and accurately quantifying the amount of recovered material present in the product.

History

ReMade in Italy is founded as a non-profit organization with the objective of supporting and enhancing products derived from recycling. The organization is established as a legally recognized association, representing Italy’s most innovative companies in the production of goods made from recycled waste.

In 2013, ReMade in Italy became the owner of the first certification scheme accredited in Italy for the verification of recycled material and byproduct content across any sector, including products composed of multiple components, covering:

  • materials
  • semi-finished products
  • finished products

Led and supported by CONAI, ReMade in Italy is transformed into the ReMade Foundation, a key step in preserving and enhancing the heritage built by the recycling industry in Italy.
Its objectives are to:
  • safeguard and consolidate the value created over the years
  • serve as a hub for promoting and fostering policies related to recycling
