CONAI has been committed for years to developing training initiatives aimed at young people, with the goal of strengthening environmental culture and professional skills in the field of sustainable management of packaging waste.
The “Green Jobs” project, aimed at students and recent graduates, was launched in 2019 in collaboration with numerous Italian universities, particularly in Central and Southern Italy. Its aim is to train new professionals capable of addressing environmental challenges associated with the waste cycle.
Participants are selected through a call for applications in collaboration with universities and receive free training through a three‑month programme, delivered live online, taught by experts in the sector, Packaging Material Consortia and recycling companies.
The main objective of this project is to provide participants with multidisciplinary training – legal, economic and technical – on the management of packaging and packaging waste, enabling them to take on new professions linked to the ecological transition.
During the courses, participants receive the CONAI textbook “Circular Economy. The Packaging Challenge” as part of the teaching material; the future challenge for companies and operators in the green economy will be to integrate circular economy principles into business models and products, ensuring sustainable management of packaging.
The book is both a study and training resource for students of science, technology and humanities, and a practical guide for business managers, public administrations and environmental consultants.
