Waste transfer platforms

Consortium platforms for managing the transfer of industrial and commercial packaging waste

Current regulations require packaging manufacturers to identify collection sites for transfer of used packaging, in accordance with the companies that use the packaging.

Generally speaking, at an operational level this cooperation among packaging manufacturers and users requires the users to collect and transport the packaging waste to the specific platform, while the manufacturers are responsible for subsequently making good use of the material.

According to this framework, Comieco, Corepla and Rilegno, in the scope of a specific agreement, have established a network of platforms throughout the national territory capable of receiving packaging waste free of charge coming from industrial, commercial, artisanal and service companies, as an alternative to the public waste collection service or other privately managed services.

As of today 501 platforms distributed across the national territory are participating in this program.
