Design for recycling is the new web platform dedicated to the guidelines for designing more easily recyclable packaging.
The Guidelines now available are those dedicated to the design of plastic packaging. The choice of starting in the plastic packaging comes from knowing the increased complexity of material applications and the ongoing evolution of sorting and recycling technologies.
Lines on the Design Guide for recycling fall prevention activities in view of the strategy “cradle to cradle”, now represents a key tool for achieving the objectives of circular economy.
The “Guidelines for the facilitation of the recycling activities of plastic packaging” born from the collaboration with the IUAV University of Venice and the support of Corepla professionals to analyze each stage of the selection and recycling of post-consumer plastic packaging with ‘objective to highlight the criticality and peculiarities of the processes to provide effective design directions. Within the document they are available to the checklist handy for designers who want to make more recyclable packing.
In order to share design information with other players in the sector, the document was submitted for public consultation until 31 January 2017 through www.progettarericiclo.com site. The platform has registered the participation and collaboration of a large number of users, encouraging a work that is the result of a synergistic collaboration of the whole chain of packaging.
The Design for Recycling site will continue to be active in time to continue to implement proposals and reports, ensuring continuous updating and improvement of the document.
