The National Packaging Consortium is renewing its commitment to supporting education about the environment and is launching the 2014/2015 edition of the Competition aimed at secondary school children.

Following the success of previous years, the Competition that awards prizes is back. Promoted by CONAI (National Packaging Consortium) and sponsored by the Ministry of the Environment and Protection of the Land and Sea, this year’s contest is also aimed at 10 to 16 year olds across Italy. Like previous years, this edition, entitled “I recycle, do you?” is part of the educational project about the environment RICICLOTVB, devised by CONAI to spread the culture of recycling packaging materials and promote an environmental awareness among young people. To take part in the competition, classes must: • show they have followed the educational course provided by the Consortium on; • devise and create a campaign that provides information and raises awareness, aimed at citizens in their municipality, about separate waste collection and the recycling of 6 packaging materials – steel, aluminium, paper, wood, plastic and glass. Billboards, radio and television commercials, posters: the students can use a multitude of media and languages to convince their fellow citizens to separate their waste well. The competition gets going on the 29th September 2014 and participating classes have until the 27th March 2015 to deliver their contribution. The Jury, composed of a representative from CONAI, a representative from the Ministry of the Environment and Protection of the Land and Sea and a representative from the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research, will assess the students’ work and will award the winning class an interactive whiteboard. The students awarded second place will win a PC (with a monitor, keyboard and graphics tablet) while third place will get an eco-design bookshelf. Information about the competition, the rules, registration form and a description of the prizes for the winning classes can be downloaded from For any queries teachers can phone the organising secretariat (Monday to Friday 9.30am to 6.30pm on 06/4416401) or write to
